Ken Major

Kenneth Major was born in Queensland in 1964.

Kenneth showed a natural talent for art from an early age; painting caricatures from the age of 9. He painted his first saleable Australian landscape in oil at 15 under the tuition of Jill Bass.

Being mainly self taught, Kenneth has been able to develop his own painting style without the influence of others, allowing his work to take a fresh approach to his subjects. Working solely in oils, he has developed a unique style which accentuates his ability to bring his Ocean themed subjects to life on canvas.

After working and around the Marine Industry for over 15 years, Kenneth's work today is predominantly centred on Contemporary Representational Marine Art. His ability to capture the detail and essence of Ocean Yachting makes his work in this area highly sought.

Kenneth's inspiration comes from his extensive travels; as well as his keenness in following competitive Ocean Yacht Racing. His eye of detail, together with reference to photographs for accurate portrayal of colour, shape and form are used back in his studio to bring his canvas to life in a near photo-realism state.

Kenneth has held joint and solo exhibitions, and his work is held by private and corporate collectors in Australia and Asia.

Kenneth has 3 magnificent works on show of a Sunseeker 105 underway, which can be viewed at 32C Masthead Way Sanctuary Cove.
